REARCHIVING
BY KATARZYNA STEFANIA DĘBSKA
Working with visual material partly based on her own private archives, the artist edits and reorganises short videos and still images live in the space, using the common area and experiences within it to help shape new narratives. Interested in different notions of memory and it’s repetitive nature in terms of the individual as well as the historic and collective one and their influence on each other, she leaves traces to remain in the space after each-week spatial intervention.
cut /mixed / when was now / your / my / remembrance / constantly manipulated / by myself / through an external collective / public / or an individual / memory constructed of my own recollections / not influenced by somebody sharing with me moments /not shaped by somebody’s experiences / put on me / by not my experiences / not only mine / my very very autonomous memory / doesn't remind of mess / remind me / my own private narration
Video installation consiting of video projections and videos shown on 3 iPads.
Performance based on actions of editing material live once a week (four times), so that the installation changes weekly.
